…of shape that I’m in now. The very first WOD I remember was running 800m to warm up (which was a lot!), finding a max back squat, then doing 3 sets of a 500m row sprints. I’ve been hooked and haven’t taken more than 2 consecutive weeks off since that first workout!
I wanted to start coaching because I felt like I’d been around long enough to understand what was the right vs. wrong way of doing things and help give other people advice/tips on how to excel in the sport— and because I think it’s an awesome thing to witness how someone’s eyes light up when they realize what their body is capable of doing (which is a lot more than you think, I promise!).
I’m so grateful that I found CrossFit. I’ve made so many solid friendships and memories through doing it, gone on some awesome adventures because of it, and it’s the coolest thing in the world to watch your body transform into something strong, and something able. Who knows what I’d be doing instead— probably running on a treadmill somewhere, ha!
I don’t want people to think CrossFit is scary! I understand that it comes off as intimidating, but I truly believe it can be done by anybody at any fitness level. Heck, it took me quite a few months to finally start RXing workouts at the required weights/reps. Everyone has to start somewhere, you just have to choose to start!
