I actually hung up my cleats and sneakers for some Reebok Nanos. At the age of 15, I walked into Ali’s gym with the goals to lose weight and be skinny. It didn’t take long for those goals to change. Once I saw what my body was capable of, my goals were to become healthier, faster, and much stronger.
After about a year of Crossfitting, I decided to get my L-1 Certification. That decision was one of the best ones I have ever made. There is so much satisfaction in seeing others work hard and crush their goals. And the people of Crossfit St. George are beyond amazing. I love coaching every single one of them.
In September of 2014, I shifted away from Crossfit a little bit to see my potential in the sport of Weightlifting. At first it was not an easy shift, because I love Crossfit so much. But I found that I might have more potential in weightlifting. So far my experience in this sport has been very rewarding, and I am working hard with hopes that it was continue to be rewarding.
Over the years, I have learned that Crossfit is not a competition. If you are constantly comparing yourself to others, you will not last long in this sport. Crossfit is about bettering yourself, appreciating your body and it’s hard work, becoming strong, and loving your body because it is capable of so many amazing things.
Eat well, work hard, become strong, and the rest will follow.
